About Me

A Special Piece of Jewelry

My beloved grandfather passed away 23 years ago. I was only 12 years old when this special person in my life died. However, this man taught me so many things during the few years I spent with him. My grandfather was also an accomplished guitarist. A few months ago, I visited the home he shared with my grandmother. While searching through his old belongings, I found a guitar pick. To keep the memory of my grandfather alive, I want to make a necklace out of this special token from my grandfather’s past. On this blog, you will discover how to make jewelry items from guitar picks.

Flattering Looks For Tall Men This Fall

by Priscilla Gray

If you are over six-feet tall, you may find it difficult to wear some of the styles and trends that are coming out each fashion season. There are some ways for men to keep their appearance on-point, while still wearing items that flatter their taller physique. Visit retailers that specialize in tall men's apparel to find some must-haves for fall.

Some style tips for tall men this season are:

Focus on the fit. Whatever you wear during any season, a good fit is imperative. Spending money on clothes that don't fit properly doesn't make any sense, unless you plan on taking them to a tailor for a few alterations. Clothing that fits well will flatter the taller man, and any wearer.

Keep an eye on the time. Do yourself a favor by investing in a proportionate sized watch for your height and build. Watches are usually measured by the size of the casing, so look for a watch with a casing 40mm or larger when you are over six-feet tall. Many quality brands offer much larger casings, but try it on first to ensure it is not too heavy to be comfortable when wearing.

Shoes make the man. A tall man looks well-grounded when he wears quality shoes, particularly in a print or patterned material. This provides an unexpected accent for a suit or office apparel. Balance this out by keeping prints and accessories to a minimum.

Add on some layers. Tall men look less looming when wearing lots of layers, which works perfect for fall. Consider pairing vests, waistcoats, blazers, and jackets with your favorite shirts and tees to create a look that is versatile and trendy. Consider investing in a quality topcoat that can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion.

Color counts. Who says tall men can't wear a bit of color? The key is sticking to a monochrome color scheme. This is particularly flattering for men with long torsos or extremely long legs. Stick to a solid color that offers a unique texture or detail in the fabric, like pin-striping or brass buttons.

Use these tips when shopping for pieces to add to your cooler-weather wardrobe and as a guide for dressing to flatter your body type. While it may seem that taller men have a style advantage, it is often difficult to find clothing that fits properly; don't be afraid to invest in customization or tailoring services, such as Frank's Big & Tall Men's Shop, to ensure you look your best any time of the year!
